Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard Kodachrome frame (off white with yellow and red corner trim). The frame is labeled "Queen's Boat — 7—5—59" in handwriting. The image shows a body of water in the foreground, extending into the middling area. It is probably the Gastineau Channel. The far shore in the background is mountainous, and the peaks within the frame bear very little snowcap. This far shore is probably the southern end of the eastern coast of Douglas Island. In the foreground, a boat decorated with many colored flags and brimming with people travels toward the camera. This may be the eponymous queen's boat. Tow other boats in the middling area travel behind it. Other indiscernable vessels travel in the distance in the background near the far shore. The number "31" is printed in red ink on the frame at the upper left. Also bears the numerals "00052544" printed in black ink at the right edge, possibly a serial or developer's number.
