Description:
Black and white photograph of a man sitting on scaffolding. He is being viewed at an angle from the back and right. His body is twisted so that his right side, face and part of his front torso is visible. His legs hang over the side of the scaffolding. The scaffolding is between the photographer and the man. There is a wooden box to his right (proper left of image) which contains paint brushes, a photograph of an eagle. The man's right arm is extended and his gloved right hand is clasping something (a paint brush) which extends into the box. Behind the man is a painting of a bald eagle. To the man's left is a smaller painting wich has eagles and a mountain. The man has a mustache and eye glasses. He is wearing jeans and a long sleeved collared shirt with the sleeves rolled up. He has a ulitility knife holder at his hip. He is wearing a ball cap hat with the text: "SHATTUCK & \ GRUMMETT INC". Verso has the text "THIS PAPER \ MANUFACTURED \ BY KODAK" watermarked and repeated in rows.
Notes:
Photogarph was donated in a plastic sleeve which has a oval gold sticker with text identifiying the photographer as Dennis WOlverton, Freelance Photography, Box 210268, Auke Bay, Alaska 99821. The sleeve was not accessioned into the collection, but remains in the accession file for reference.

Email correspondence with Bill Ray confirmed the location of the eagle mural being painted in the photograph as on the side of the Floyd Dryden School in Juneau. Copy of correspondence in accession file.
