On the Road Near Supt. House, Sheep Creek 023
The two story house shown here was the residence of Frank C. Hammond, superintendent of the Silver Queen Mine in upper Sheep Creek. (He also built what we now call the House of Wickersham.) The house was located near the Silver Queen Mill, later to be called the Nowell Mill. The residence burned on April 2, 1914 and nothing remains today. Note the people standing on the road below the house.
