Description:
Color photograph of a city set at the base of a mountain range and on the shores of a water way. City is Juneau with Mount Juneau behind. Mountains in the distance have snowcaps. The Federal Building, State Office Building, the Juneau—Douglas Bridge and other buildings are clearly visible. A cruise ship is in the Gastineau Channel. The Gastineau Channel is cutting diagonally through the midground of the photograph from upper proper right to lower proper left. Photograph is taken from atop the mountainous landscape of Douglas Island in the foreground. The photograph is mounted on to a matte board frame. On the matte board beneath the photograph is text hand written in pencil. The text to the lower proper right reads: "Juneau, Alaska — '84". The text to the lower proper left reads: "J. Hermle". The matte board frame consists of five pieces of board adhered together. Boards are light blue, dark blue, white, off white and black. Back piece is the black and had a table stand attached via wire and adhesive.
