Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard Kodachrome frame (brown with red trim). The frame is labeled "Chatham, Alaska Cannery July 3, 54" in handwriting. The image shows a shoreline with a low mountain slope covered in trees. Along the shoreline are a number of buildings, one of which is probably the eponymous cannery. The immediate foreground is occupied by dark blue ocean water, probably the Chatham Strait. The number "12" is printed in ink on the frame at the upper left. Another number, "236102" is also printed along the bottom edge of the frame, perhaps a series or development number.
