Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard Kodachrome frame (brown with red trim). The frame is labeled "Chatham Cannery July 3, 54" in handwriting. The image shows a dock area with several small fishing vessels moored. Beyond that, there are a number of small buildings with pointed roofs, probably the cannery complex. A tree lined slope looms over the port. In the foreground, a small portion of the Chatham Strait is visible leading to the dock. The number "13" is printed in ink on the frame at the upper left. Another number, "236102" is also printed along the bottom edge of the frame, perhaps a series or development number.
