Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard Kodachrome frame (brown with red trim). The frame is labeled "Boats at Chatham July 3, 54" in handwriting. The image shows the port area at Chatham, with a number of boats, presumably fishing vessels, moored at the docks. There are two in the foreground, with three more visible in the background. Low buildings with gray slate roofs populate the background, proably the cannery complex. The waters of the Chatham Strait are visible around the dock. The number "14" is printed in ink on the frame at the upper left.
