A is album page. B to K are black and white photographs, 4 by 3 inches. All photos horizontally oriented unless otherwise noted.
A — Black paper album page with two holes proper right side. Six photos affixed to front; four photos affixed to back. Captions printed in white ink beside photos to which they refer; "Paul" printed in white ink, lower proper right corner, next to number "5" handwritten in pencil.
B — Photograph, man in dark cap faces toward proper left; holds shovel in his right hand and extends his left hand. Between him and proper left edge of photo is rear end of a dump truck. Man and truck stand on sloping rock fill. Houses and other vehicles in background; another person in dark clothes is visible against a white house in upper proper right corner. Round metal railing with one visible support runs along bottom third of photo.
C — Photograph, wooden boardwalk in lower part of photo, its edge running approximately from upper proper right to lower proper left corners. Railings built along edge of boardwalk. Part of dump truck visible through railings, bed tipped toward boardwalk. Large shadow runs horizontally across boardwalk in lower third of image. Caption to proper left of photo reads "At the First Culvert".
D — Photograph, similar scene as previous but with lower two—thirds of a man in light—colored shirt and dark trousers visible. Man is standing at rail in center of photo, facing away from photographer (toward dump truck).
E — Photograph, William L. Paul, Jr. dressed in light—colored hat with dark band around crown and dark coat; hands are in pockets. He is standing at proper left side of photo facing photographer, in front of the cab of a dark—colored truck with "40 / Civilian Conservation Corps / U.S. Department of Agriculture" printed on passenger—side door. Caption to proper left of photo reads "Wm. L. Paul Jr".
F — Photograph, similar to previous but taken from further back at slightly different angle. William L. Paul, Jr. stands at proper left side of photo in same pose before same truck, but truck bed is now visible as well as rocky ground. Light—colored building behind truck, and another building visible in upper proper right corner of photo. Photo is slightly blurred.
G — Photograph, wide expanse of rock fill in lower two—thirds of image, two dump trucks facing toward proper left near top of photo, with houses in background. Approximately ten people visible, some standing near dump trucks holding shovels, some standing on street in upper proper right corner looking toward dump trucks. Caption to proper left of photo reads "Easily Done".
H — Photograph, vertical orientation, man in dark—colored coat, light—colored hat, scarf, and trousers, and boots stands on rock fill in foreground, holding shovel in his right hand as he turns his head toward proper left. Sawed—off wood pilings visible behind him. Two houses in background, one sided in dark boards (proper left) and one lighter colored (cut off by proper right edge). A car is parked between the two. Caption underneath reads "Indian Enrollee CCC James Hanson."
