Description:
Postcard. On front side is a black and white photograph of a ship pulled up on to a sand bar. The ship is viewed from the ship's right side. Due to its beached status the whole hull is visible. There is text on the side of the bow reading: "NORTHWESTERN". There is a smaller boat in the lower proper right corner of the image. An island is visible in the water in the background to the proper left of the image. The boat is reflected in the water in the foreground. Along the lower edge is white hand written text reading: "S.S. NORTHWESTERN AT EAGLE RIVER BAR, ALASKA \ c33 ORDWAY — JUNEAU, ALASKA." The "c" is enclosed in a circle making it the copyright symbol. Verso has stamped black text along the upper edge reading: "POST CARD \ MADE IN U.S.A \ CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS". In the upper proper right corner is a square consisting of stars and the letters "NOKO". With in the square is text reading: "PLACE \ STAMP \ HERE".

The album belonged to William G. Brian Harland. He was a mechanic for Alaska—Washington Airways and Alaska Southern Airways. He was based out of Juneau.
