Description:
Color photograph of Franklin Street and fire fighting at the Baranof Hotel.
View up Franklin Street on the block before the Baranof Hotel. Both sides of the street are visible. The road is full of yellow fire hoses going toward the Baranof. There is a man with khaki coveralls, white shirt, dark hair and mustache, and a paint brush in his left hand. He is in the proper left corner of the photo. He is in mid stride walking toward the street. To his proper right is a white and red NO PARKING THIS SIDE OF STREET sign. There is a tripod in front of a ladder that is propped up against a building on the proper left in front of the walking man. On this same side on the sidewalk there are several people standing on the sidewalk watching the commotion. There is also a man with a bag over his left shoulder and camera on his right shoulder filming the scene. In the intersection of Franklin and the cross street there is a fire truck and white car. There are more people at this intersection and farther up Franklin. There are even people on the roof of a building across from the Baranof in the proper right of the photo. The mountains are visible in the background.
