Color photograph of the fire at the Baranof Hotel.
The front of the building takes up most of the photograph but the street is also visible. It is filled with yellow fire hoses. A fireman in a yellow uniform is holding the front door of the hotel open. Jim Carroll is to his proper right and is walking away from the door. He has a uniform jacket and blue jeans on. Two fireman are to the proper left of Jim and are facing the door. Behind them is a man in a light blue shirt and dark blue jeans. He is identified as B. Hurley. He is facing to the proper left. Two fireman in yellow uniforms and another fireman in a black uniform are manning the fire hoses that are spraying water into the front door of the hotel. A man in a light blue shirt and dark blue jeans is behind them and holding one of the hoses. He is identified as J. Kemp.
