Description:
Panoramic photograph of the last staff and student body of the Capital School, taken in May of 1997. Photo was taken on the playground between 4th and 5th Streets with the side of the school building at proper right and 5th Street visible along the top of the image. At the bottom of the image in white lettering is printed the following: " Began as Juneau Alaska Public High School ——1928 Students, Staff, and Friends Juneau, Alaska May 28, 1997 Ended as Capital School Annex ——1997."
Notes:
Photo was taken to commemorate the closing of Capital School. 1997 was the last year Students were in the school. The building became the Terry Miller legislative office building.
