Description:
Set of seven (7) sample postcards from box (2014.11.034 A—B) used at Paul Bloedhorn's jewelry shop. These seven postcards feature photographs of dog sled teams and dogs.

A: Black and white horizontal postcard. Front has an image of a sled dog team with their mushers standing next to the sled behind them. There are mountains and water in the background. There are eleven (11) dogs in the images; nine (9) are tied in the team and two (2) are lying down along the proper right edge. Black text in the lower proper right corner reads: "TAKING A REST, \ SEWARD, ALASKA." At approximately center along the upper edge is purple text stamped on to the card which reads: "SAMPLE \ PLEASE ORDER BY NUMBER \ THIS IS NO. _______ \ Scenic Photo Publishing Co. \ 614 1st Ave. SEATTLE". On the line for the number is "A85" handwritten in black ink. One the back is black typed text reading: "SCENIC PHOTO PUBLISHING CO. SEATTLE WASH \ POST CARD \ CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS". There are two black horizontal lines between the "POST CARD" and "CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS".

B: Black and white horizontal postcard. Front has an image of a sled dog team with their two (2) mushers on the sled behind them; one man is sitting and one is standing. Snow and trees are in the background and snow is in the foreground. There are ten (10) dogs in the images, all tied to the team. In Black text near the lower proper left corner reads: "THE LOOSE LEADER, ALASKA." In the lower proper right corner is purple text stamped on to the card which reads: "SAMPLE \ PLEASE ORDER BY NUMBER \ THIS IS NO. _______ \ Scenic Photo Publishing Co. \ 614 1st Ave. SEATTLE". On the line for the number is "A84" handwritten in black ink. One the back is black typed text reading: "SCENIC PHOTO PUBLISHING CO. SEATTLE WASH \ POST CARD \ CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS". There are two black horizontal lines between the "POST CARD" and "CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS".

C: Black and white horizontal postcard. Front has an image of a sled dog team with their musher standing on the sled behind them. There are mountains in the background. There are thirteen (13) dogs in the images; twelve (12) are tied in the team and one (1) is lying down next to the first tied dog. Black text in the lower proper right corner reads: "ALASKA SPORT." In the upper proper left corner is purple text stamped on to the card which reads: "SAMPLE \ PLEASE ORDER BY NUMBER \ THIS IS NO. _______ \ Scenic Photo Publishing Co. \ 614 1st Ave. SEATTLE". D: Black and white horizontal postcard. Front has an image of a sled dog team with their mushers standing next to the sled behind them. There are mountains and water in the background. There are nine (9) dogs tied in the team and possibly an additional dog standing next to the mushers and sled. Black text in the lower proper right corner reads: "TRANSPORTING U.S. MAIL, ALASKA." In the upper proper left corner is purple text stamped on to the card which reads: "SAMPLE \ PLEASE ORDER BY NUMBER \ THIS IS NO. _______ \ Scenic Photo Publishing Co. \ 614 1st Ave. SEATTLE". On the line for the number is "A90" handwritten in black ink. One the back is black typed text reading: "SCENIC PHOTO PUBLISHING CO. SEATTLE WASH \ POST CARD \ CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS". E: Black and white horizontal postcard. Front has an image of a sled dog team with a sled behind them and three men (mushers). There are mountains in the background. There are nine (8) dogs in the images, all tied in the team. One man is standing next to the back of the sled, one at the front of the sled and one at the center sent of dogs. Black text in the lower proper right corner reads: "SHIPPING GOLD, ALASKA." In the upper proper left corner is purple text stamped on to the card which reads: "SAMPLE \ PLEASE ORDER BY NUMBER \ THIS IS NO. _______ \ Scenic Photo Publishing Co. \ 614 1st Ave. SEATTLE". On the line for the number is "A83" handwritten in black ink. One the back is black typed text reading: "SCENIC PHOTO PUBLISHING CO. SEATTLE WASH \ POST CARD \ CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS". F: Black and white horizontal postcard. Front has an image of a mother dog with her six (1) puppies. They are all lying on a wooden step or box. White text along the lower edge reads: "Alaskan Hskie and Pups." In the upper proper right corner is purple text stamped on to the card which reads: "SAMPLE \ PLEASE ORDER BY NUMBER \ THIS IS NO. _______ \ Scenic Photo Publishing Co. \ 614 1st Ave. SEATTLE". G: Black and white vertical postcard. Front has an image of a sled dog team with their mushers standing bent over next to the sled behind them. There is snow covered ground, trees and buildings in the background. A silhouette of a man is also seen in the background. There are at least nine (9) dogs tied in the team. Black text in the lower proper right corner reads: "A MAD RACE WITH DEATH — \ HAULING SERUM TO NOME." Above the black text is purple text stamped on to the card which reads: "SAMPLE \ PLEASE ORDER BY NUMBER \ THIS IS NO. _______ \ Scenic Photo Publishing Co. \ 614 1st Ave. SEATTLE". On the line for the number is "A89" handwritten in black ink. One the back is black typed text reading: "SCENIC PHOTO PUBLISHING CO. SEATTLE WASH \ POST CARD \ CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS".
