Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard frame (off white with red rear text "Color Transparency" and front logo for Perfect Photo, Inc.). The frame is labeled "Wickersham 6—28—68" in handwriting. The image shows an aerial southward looking view of downtown Juneau. The foreground is littered wiht low buildings and treetops, opening onto a small harbor at right, between the embankment at the right in the foreground, and the ore tailing jetty beyond. The white ferry vessel MV Wickersham is visible traveling toward the left shore in the harbor. At left in the background, the lower slope of Mount Roberts is visible. At right, the Gastineau Channel flows outside the jetty and into the background, separating the foreground from Douglas Island at extreme right. The number "8" is printed in ink on the frame at the lower right, and the text "JUL 68" is etched on the lower edge, possibly signifying the date of development.
