Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard Kodachrome frame (brown with red trim). The frame is labeled "July 4 1956" in handwriting. The image shows a front view of an unknown street in Juneau during the parade. There are buildings lining both sides of the street, and a perpendicular one far in the background. Spectators line both sides of the street. A float is traveling down the street away fromthe camera, bedecked in blue and red with a floral pattern. There are several women atop it, dressed in grass skirts and floral necklaces. The rear side has text reading "PAA PAA PAA." This is possibly a promotional float for Pan American Airlines. People in the crowd have shifted, standing directly in the foreground. The number "6" is printed in ink on the frame at the upper left.
