Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard Kodachrome frame (off white with yellow and red corner trim). The frame is labeled "Juneau 4—23—59" in handwriting. The image shows the waters of the Gastineau Channel in the foreground, leading to the water's edge of downtown Juneau in the middling area of the image. Mount Roberts looms above the city, heavily snowcapped. At the extreme right of the image, the remains of the AJ mine buildings are set into the mountainside. A plume of smoke rises from an area between downtown and the AJ mine. The number "11" is printed in red ink on the frame at the upper left.
