    Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard Kodachrome frame (brown with red trim). The frame is labeled "July 4 1957" in handwriting. The image shows First Street at the corner of Seward Street, and looking toward Franklin Street along the parade route. The 20th Century Gross Building is visible at left. The sidewalks are thick with spectators on both sides of the street. A procession of children pushing what look like bicycle wheels attached to wheelbarrow type handles is turning onto Seward Street. Another indiscernable procession is turning onto First Street from Franklin Street. The number "7" is printed in ink on the frame at the upper left.
