A photographic slide in a small cardboard Kodachrome frame (brown with red trim). The frame is labeled "July 4 1957" in handwriting. The image shows First Street at the corner of Seward Street, and looking toward Franklin Street along the parade route. The 20th Century Gross Building is visible at left. The sidewalks are thick with spectators on both sides of the street. A large red truck holding what looks like a sports team on its rear is moving along First Street toward the camera, about to turn onto Seward Street. Behind it, a blue and yellow draped textile float is traveling toward the camera. The number "8" is printed in ink on the frame at the upper left.
