Description:
Black and white photograph a float plane (sea plane) tied to a dock. Plane has a front propeller and two pontoons. Text on the aircraft's tail reads: "NC 336 H Petersburg". Text on the back end of the airplane's fuselage reads: "ALASKA—WASHINGTON \ AIRWAYS". There are five windows on the side of the plane. A wooden dock is in the foreground. Docks, the city of Juneau and tree covered mountains are in the background. A man is standing on the plane's right pontoon under the plane's right wing. He is wearing a long sleeve shirt, a tie, pants, argyle socks and loafers. His hands are behind his back. Verso is blank.

Photograph is of the plane "The Petersburg" and of its pilot R.E. Ellis in 1931.

The album belonged to William G. Brian Harland. He was a mechanic for Alaska—Washington Airways and Alaska Southern Airways. He was based out of Juneau.
