Description:
Color photograph of the original Red Dog Saloon.
The front of the Red Dog Saloon takes most of the photograph. On the proper right side there is an alley visible between the Red Dog Saloon and another building. There is snow falling and snow covering the streets and a teal and white station wagon type vehicle parked in front of the saloon. There is a woman in a white coat with fur, skirt, and purse walking on the sidewalk on the proper right end of the saloon. She is headed toward the proper left and is next to a parking meter. The second floor of the saloon is pink with dark red trim. There are three windows. There is a Miller High Life sign sticking off the side of the building toward the street between the second and first window. The sign on the first floor of the building reads "Alaska's Fabulous RED DOG SALOON World famous." RED DOG SALOON is in bigger print than the words before and after it. The sign is a dark color with white lettering lined in lighter blue. There is a smaller "RED DOG SALOON" sign below the big one. It is white with red lettering. On either side of the doors of the saloon are vertical rectangular signs that say "World Famous Saloon" They are yellow with red and white lettering.
Notes:
