Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard Kodachrome frame (brown with red trim). The frame is labeled "Dawn Channel from Distin Ave 2—9—51" in handwriting. The image shows a semi—aerial view of the rooftops of waterfront Juneau, leading to the Gastineau Channel. Beyond, the mountains and waterfront of Douglas are visible. The foreground is dominated by houses, successively sloping downward. Telephone and/or power lines cross the center of the image. A significant solar glare is at the right side of the image. The number "9" is imprinted on the frame at the upper left.
