Ebner Mine and Milling Company 016A
J.A. Johnson bought a group of claims, including the Takou Union, and set up a small mill and some buildings in 1886. The mill was a failure and he had to give up the property. This mill site is also known as the Taku Union because the Johnson claims were taken over by the newly organized Takou Consolidated Mining Co. in 1888. The new company built a 10—stamp mill on the site. The mine and mill were leased by William Ebner in 1894 and was purchased by the new Ebner Gold Mining Co. in 1895, which is why the photo is identified as an Ebner mill. Notice the wires in this photo also. Overhead tramways ran to the mill from both Ebner's Dora claim and the Takou Union group. It appears the tailings were dumped into Gold Creek. The mill is the same building seen in the bottom photo in the previous frame (on the right.)
