Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard Kodachrome frame (brown with red trim). The frame is labeled "Boat Races 7—3—49" in handwriting. The image shows a body of water, possibly the Gastineau Channel, with a section of snowcapped mountain range in the background. There are three boats on the water in the foreground, one larger white vessel at the left and two smaller ones docked at the barge on the right. The middling area behind them is occupied by two much smaller craft, perhaps rowboats. In the background, what looks like a military vessel is visible. The number "17" is imprinted on the frame at the top left.
