Title:
Filipino Float, 4th of July, 1956
Place:
Juneau, Alaska
Date:
July 4, 1956
Year Range from:
1956
Year Range to:
1956
Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard Kodachrome frame (brown with red trim). The frame is labeled "Filipino Float 4th—1956" in handwriting. The image shows the float representing the Filipino Community, decorated richly with flowers and garlands of red, green, and white, with a woman in a yellow gown sitting atop it. It is unclear if it is moving or parked, but a warehouse—like beige building stands to its right bearing a sign with cut off text. Houses clustered at the mountain slope stand in the distant background at left. The number "14" is printed in red ink on the frame at the upper left.
