Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard Kodachrome frame (brown with red trim). The frame is labeled "Elks Float 7/4/55" in handwriting. The image shows a parade float traveling down an unknown street in Juneau. Captured from a diagonal, the left side of the float is visible. It has three adjoined parts, the longer, flat platform in front (toward the background) with a large rendering of a baseball and several boys in baseball uniforms; the second portion is a large round clockface with Roman numerals; the third portion at the rear (closest to the foreground) is a low platform with railings on either side, holding boys in baseball uniforms. The color scheme for the float is white and mauve. Buildings are visible on the right side of the street, and in the background where it meets a perpendicular street. The green slope of a mountain can be seen beyond those buildings. The number "5" is printed in red ink on the frame at the upper left.
