Artist's Note:
Casting a shadow on the bottom through the crystal clear water snow covered ice floats on a shallow melt pond on the South Fork of the Mendenhall. This water has yet to find a way down through the snow and ice below but there is no doubt that sooner or later it will. Melt ponds are transient formations that last days, weeks and sometimes months. EOS1v, 17mm, 1/250 sec. film: Fugichrome 100. year:2003
