Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard frame (off white with red rear text "Color Transparency"). The frame is labeled "Other Twin Glacier from Lake — 8—28—66 Up Taku" in handwriting. The image shows a wide expanse of gray water stretching across the foreground, leading to a far shore. The mountains surrounding this glacier on the far short are lower on the left, but steeper at right, suggesting that the twin glaciers feed into each other from opposite sides of a valley. The mountains at left have heavier snowcap. The glacier itself is low and narrower than its twin, its coloring near the water's edge identical to the water. A small outcropping of rock at left creates a little mouth near the end of the glacier. Long icebergs float near the short at each side of the glacier's mouth. The sky is a heavy leaden gray. The number "20" is printed in ink on the frame at the upper left.
