Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard Kodachrome frame (brown with red trim). The frame is labeled "7—4—49" in handwriting. The image shows the parade route at the confluence of two streets. The immediate foreground is occupied by an unconventional float consisting of a cart pulled by a black sedan draped in a red, white and blue bunting. The cart contains several people reenacting the flag raising on Iwo Jima. A number of surrounding buildings can be seen, including Juneau Liquor and the neighboring druggist. The number "31" is imprinted on the frame at the lower left.
