Description:
Set of five (5) sample postcards from box (2014.11.034 A—B) used at Paul Bloedhorn's jewelry shop. These five postcards feature photographs of Dawson, Yukon, Canada.

A: Black and white horizontal postcard. Front has a photograph of a city located on the flats at the base of a mountain. There is a water way between the main city and an area of farm land. A bridged roadway connects the two. In the lower proper right corner is an illustration of a scroll with text reading: "DAWSON \ Y.T." In the upper proper right corner there is purple text stamped on to the card which reads: "SAMPLE \ PLEASE ORDER BY NUMBER \ THIS IS NO. _______ \ Scenic Photo Publishing Co. \ 614 1st Ave. SEATTLE". The line for the number is blank. One the back is black typed text reading: "SCENIC PHOTO PUBLISHING CO. SEATTLE WASH \ POST CARD \ CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS". There are two black horizontal lines between the "POST CARD" and "CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS".

B: Black and white horizontal postcard. Front has a photograph of a landscape. There is a waterway between two sections of mountainous land. There is a small town and harbor on the proper right coastline. White text near the lower proper left reads: "295. View from Dome back of Dawson, Yukon \ Courtesy White Pass x Yukon". In the upper proper left corner there is purple text stamped on to the card which reads: "SAMPLE \ PLEASE ORDER BY NUMBER \ THIS IS NO. _______ \ Scenic Photo Publishing Co. \ 614 1st Ave. SEATTLE". On the line for the number is "A295" handwritten in black ink. One the back is black typed text reading: "SCENIC PHOTO PUBLISHING CO. SEATTLE WASH \ POST CARD \ CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS". There are two black horizontal lines between the "POST CARD" and "CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS".

C: Black and white horizontal postcard. Front has a photograph of a city located on the flats at the base of a mountain on a coastline. There is a water way on the proper left. In the lower proper left corner is an illustration of a scroll with text reading: "DAWSON CITY." Near the upper proper left corner there is purple text stamped on to the card which reads: "SAMPLE \ PLEASE ORDER BY NUMBER \ THIS IS NO. _______ \ Scenic Photo Publishing Co. \ 614 1st Ave. SEATTLE". On the line for the number is "A303" handwritten in black ink. One the back is black typed text reading: "SCENIC PHOTO PUBLISHING CO. SEATTLE WASH \ POST CARD \ CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS". There are two black horizontal lines between the "POST CARD" and "CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS". Text on the back is upside down along the lower edge.

D: Black and white horizontal postcard. Front has a photograph of a city located on the flats at the base of a mountain. There is a water way between the main city and an area of farm land. A bridged roadway connects the two. The waterway is partially filled in with rock piles. Near the lower proper left corner is white text reading: "306/ South Dawson showing Dredge Tailings. Klondike River". Near the upper proper left corner there is purple text stamped on to the card which reads: "SAMPLE \ PLEASE ORDER BY NUMBER \ THIS IS NO. _______ \ Scenic Photo Publishing Co. \ 614 1st Ave. SEATTLE". On the line for the number is "A306" handwritten in black ink. One the back is black typed text reading: "SCENIC PHOTO PUBLISHING CO. SEATTLE WASH \ POST CARD \ CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS". There are two black horizontal lines between the "POST CARD" and "CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS".

E: Black and white vertical postcard. Front has a photograph of a group of people standing on a raised walk way on the side of a mountain or hill. The crowd is standing below and around two flag poles. The flag pole on the proper right is flying a British flag and the pole on the proper right is flying an American flag. In the lower proper right corner is an illustration of a scroll with text reading: "UNDER TWO FLAGS \ YUKON". Just above center there is purple text stamped on to the card which reads: "SAMPLE \ PLEASE ORDER BY NUMBER \ THIS IS NO. _______ \ Scenic Photo Publishing Co. \ 614 1st Ave. SEATTLE". On the line for the number is "A101" handwritten in black ink. One the back is black typed text reading: "SCENIC PHOTO PUBLISHING CO. SEATTLE WASH \ POST CARD \ CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS". There are two black horizontal lines between the "POST CARD" and "CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS".
