Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard Kodachrome frame (brown with red trim). The frame is labeled "July 4th '49" in handwriting. The image shows part of a parade float with nine people riding on it. The two at farthest left are both women, one dressed as the Statue of Liberty, and the other seemingly a pilgrim. The other seven are arranged toward the right, five of whom are women, all wearing Miss Juneau sashes. Two are men, one of whom wears a Mr. Juneau sash, and the other wearing a striped bathing suit and bathing cap. The front of the float holds a sign, the left side of which is cut off, but the right side of which reads "Our Nation's Safety". Behind the float is an undefined building. The number "22" is imprinted on the frame at the top left.
