"Your proposition representing yourselves and others including the town of Douglas City claiming to own the surface ground of the May Flower Lode Claim..." "I called on G.W. Garside the surveyor..." "it further seems to me from the price you offer for a patented deed for the surface you have not much confidence in title...." "I will deed the same lode claim to your community with all the rights I may have for the sum of two thousand dollars..." Letterhead mentions C.W. YOung Dealer in Hardware and Building materials, Paints, Oil, Glass and Brushes, Iron Steel and Ship Chandlery, Undertaking Goods, Furniture, and House Furnishing Goods.
A and B are page one and two of the handwritten letter. C is the letter addressed to Mr P.H. Fox of Douglas City, Alaska.
