Letter is two sheets of paper (2012.48.012B—C) written on both front and back. Paper has United States Navy letterhead consisting of an image of a ship. Letter is dated 02/05/1942.

Orignial envelope (2012.48.012A) is also included. Envelope is postmarked 02/06/1942.

William G. Meeker, Jr., S2C USNR V—6, was stationed on the USS Juneau CL—52 which sunk on November 13, 1942. Meeker was lost at sea. Collection includes photographs, newsclippings, and letters written by Meeker to Winefride Blohm.
