Title page reads: "THE FIRST MAN \ A Cautionary Take \ Dale DeArmond \ An Eskimo Folktake from Point Hope \ Retold and Illustrated \ by \ Dale DeArmond \ OLD HARBOR PRESS \ Sitka * Alaska". There is an illustration of a black raven between "A Cautionary Tale" and "An Eskimo Folk Tale from Point Hope". The "Dale DeArmond" directly below "A Cautionary Tale" is a handwritten signature.

The book is made of twenty—four (24) pieces of paper bound with green string. The green string pierces and wraps the pages in four places along the proper right edge. The title and author on the front cover and the ISBN number on the back cover are printed in green ink. All other text and illustrations are in black ink.
