Scope & Content:
Administrative Credential certificate issued to Floyd Dryden on July 1, 1954 by Don M. Dafoe, Commisioner of Education. Certificate is 8" x 6", printed in black on white paper, with specific information typewritten in blank fields, and decorative border. Certificate reads "This is to certify that Thomas Floyd Dryden, having presented evidence required by the Territorial Board of Education, is hereby granted this Administrative Credential, and is hereby authorized to act as Principal or Superintendent in any Public School in the Territory of Alaska for a period of life from date of issuance, unless said Credential be revoked for cause. Granted upon B.A. in Education; five—year diploma — University of Washington: sufficient hours and proper courses in Education. Sufficient experience as an Alaskan administrator. Given at Juneau, Alaska, this first day of July, 1954." Signed by Commisioner of Education in green ink and embossed with circular seal in lower proper right corner. Certificate is held in place by red ribbons affixed to inside of cover in each corner. Cover, made of stiff black textured leather lined in glossy red fabric, folds in half. Embossed in gold on front of cover: "Territory of Alaska / Administrative Credential".
