Documents relating to the Application for and Transfer of Bar—Room and Cigar Stand Licenses and Petition for refund for George W. Moffett in Coppermount, Alaska, 1907
One (1) typed letter from C.C. Page, Clerk, to George W. Moffett dated September 18, 1907, which reads: "Dear Sir: At the request of the Honorable Royal A Gunnison, District Judge, you are hereby notified that on Monday, September 23, 1907, a hearing will be had at Juneau, Alaska, at the court house at the hour of ten o'clock a. m., upon the question of the issuance of a liquor license upon your application at Coppermount, Alaska, upon the protest filed therein. If you desire to be heard in connection therewith you should be present at said time and place with your witnesses." Letter is typed upside down on United States District Court letterhead, placing the letter head at the bottom of the page and upside down when reading letter.
One (1) hand written letter from George W. Moffett to C.C. Page dated October 10, 1907 informing Mr. Page that Mr. Moffett will not be able to attend the hearing of his petition but his "lawyer Mr. Thomas R. Lyons will see to my [business] for me."
One (1) typed letter dated September 25, 1907 to George W. Moffett from C.C. Page, Clerk, which reads: Dear Sir: The court having on Monday, September 23d, granted your petition for the refund of a prorate amount of license money paid by you on your application for a liquor license at Coppermount, Alaska, I enclose herewith check for $398.63, in payment of such refund."
One (1) form (partial piece of paper) relating to "the Election of a delegate to the House of Representatives from the Territory of Alaska." Form not filled out. On verso are mathematical calculations relating to the license fees and refund owed to Mr. George W. Moffett.
One (1) "Application for Bar—Room License" for a one (1) year license beginning on July 1, 1907 for George W. Moffett in Coppermount, Alaska. Application signed by applicant, George W. Moffett.
