One (1) Sub—Voucher paid to G.W. Garside for surveying the courthouse site in Juneau, Alaska. Dated Dec 1901. Amount of $121.50 (total amounts paid to Henry States ($15.75), James Daly ($15.75) and G.W. Garside ($90.00) according to the Fine and Forefeiture Vouchers).

One (1) letter (attached to Sub—Voucher along top boarder of each with glue or other type of adhesive) from J.K. Richards, Acting Attorney General to Hon. M.C. Brown, U.S. District Judge for Juneau explaining: "The Department is in receipt of your letter dated the 20th ultimo, in regards to the bill of G.W. Garside and his assistants for surveying the court house site. In reply thereto, you are informed that it is believed said bill should not be paid from "Fines and Forfeitures," but should be paid from the appropriation for the building."
