Description:
Western Electric Telephone patented July 17,1894. Heavy wooden wall—hung part has double bell on the front, crank on the PROPER LEFT side. Metal crank has plastic handle. Small keyhole like element on PROPER LEFT front is actually only a screw and the door open easily to expose mechanism inside. 11.0 inches by 8.0 inches by 6.0 inches. It is attached to the speaking part by a braided green cloth—covered electrical cord and the weaving has red and yellow flecks woven in. This element say "Pat in US A Aug 16 04 Sept 13 04" Most recent date on the earpiece is patented June 3, 1913. The speaking part appears to be brass with an enamel coating, some parts steel, and some parts plastic. The base is covered with red felt. 11 1/2" x 7" x 5 1/2" There is a plain black cord connecting the earpiece to the mouthpiece.
