Phonograph record with paper sleeve produced by Brunswick—Balke—Collender Company.

A: Phonograph record made of black resin with gold painted center. On one side at the center is black text reading: "Brunswick \ U.S. PAT 1,637,544 \ NEW HALL OF FAME CLASSIC SERIES \ Contralto with \ Orchestra \ In Italian \ DORMI PURE! \ (Sleep On!) \ ——Scuderi—— \ SIGRID ONEGIN \ 15156 \ THE BRUNSWICK—BALKE—COLLENDER COMPANY \ MADE IN U.S.A. \ REG. U.S. PAT OFFICE. M. DE F. MARCA INDUSTRIAL REGISTRADA". At the center of the other side is black text reading: "Brunswick \ U.S. PAT 1,637,544 \ NEW HALL OF FAME CLASSIC SERIES \ Contralto with \ Orchestra \ In Italian \ CARO MIO BEN \ (Canst Thou Believe) \ ——Giordani—— \ SIGRID ONEGIN \ 15156 \ THE BRUNSWICK—BALKE—COLLENDER COMPANY \ MADE IN U.S.A. \ REG. B: Brown paper sleeve for record. Opening at top and has a circular hole at center for reading the center sections on the record. Text and illustrations are dark brown. Front has text reading: "Brunswick" at top, "All Brunswick Records \ Now Uniformly \ Priced \ 75 c \ for 10" Records \ $1.00 \ for 12" Records" on the lower proper right, "ELECTRICAL \ RECORDING \ THE BRUNSWICK—BALKE—COLLENDER CO \ Manufacturers—Established 1845 \ CHICAGO" at center below the center hole, and "TWO \ GOOD SELECTIONS \ ON EVERY \ BRUNSWICK RECORD" on the lower proper left. Decorative floral and boarder designs around text. The back has advertisements ffor three models of Brunswick Record Players and suggestions for other "Outstanding Records" to purchase. There is a red and white paper sticker on the back of the sleeve directly above the center hole with blue hand written text reading: "235a".
Notes:
Record from the Augustus Brown collection. Brown donated 1,500+ records to the Memorial Library. In the 1980's approximately 800—900 were purchased by donor's father.
