Description:
Hard plastic molded Ginny doll. Sleep eyes. Painted lashes and eyebrows. Hip pin straight leg walker. Blond long hair of dynel or saras, currently in two braids with pink ribbons. Shoulders rotate with metal interior loops connected with elastic band. Head rotates left to right with motion of walking legs. Blue glass eyes close when doll sleeps. Hair glued to head. Individual fingers. Embossed toes. Inscription embossed on upper back of doll: "Ginny/ Vogue Dolls/ Inc./Pat. Pend/ Made in U.S.A."

Doll given to Mary Ann Parke by her parents Thomas S and Vera L. Parke during the mid 1950's. Doll was named after Vera Parke. See files 2002.11.086, 092—103, 149—177. This doll datos between 1953 (hip pin straight leg walker) to per 1955 when the doll was patented and molded eyelashes were added. Doll originally came with panties (2002.11.097B) See document file for Ginny Doll information. "These dolls and scaled accessories were my favorite dolls. I think I was more interested in the miniature scale rather than the actual dolls accessories. Outfits and accessories most useful in the Juneau environment were my favorite." — Mary Ann Parke
