Description:
Lanyard. Lanyard made from blue and white nylon line woven into a long cylinder. Majority of body is blue nylon broken up with three bands of white nylon line, white on top, then blue, white, blue, white, and bottom is blue and is slightly larger than the rest. A loop is woven into the top band of the object. Through this look is a length of plastic coated, stranded cable. Cable has been formed into 2 loops, secured with aluminum ferrules. The larger loop runs through the eye of the lanyard proper. The smaller loop runs through the eye of a metal clip.
Notes:
Made by the US Coast Guard Juneau for the State agency of legislative affairs to ring the bell for the 50th anniversary of statehood celebration held at the Juneau—Douglas City Museum at 4th and Main on July 4, 2009. Used the ring the bell, in front of the State Capital Building 34 times, in a ceremony that mirrored the original statehood celebration of 1959. 16 additional "rings" were performed by Tlingit drummers.
