Canvas Back Pack w/ Stenciled BSA Emblem

Description:
Canvas back pack with Boy Scouts of America emblem. Extended dimensions of pack body are 12.5 inches by 4.25 inches by 15 inches deep. No frame. Large pocket with 7.25 inches by 10 inches expanding pocket sewn in front. Top flap covers pack and fastens with string on "D" ring at bottom of pack. Brass grommets on flaps and upper edge of pack. 8 "D" rings along sides of pack. Straps are 1.75 inches cotton webbing and adjustable. Stress points on pocket, flap and straps (gone) riveted.
Inscription: Stenciled "BSA" emblem on front of pack flap. "BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA / NATIONAL COUNCIL NEW YORK CITY" w/ Boy Scout emblem in center. On side flap "Ralph Treffers" crossed out & beside is "TSP"

Notes:
Pack used by Thomas S. Parke for hunting during 1940s and 1950s. Boy Scout packs were available at Hennings Men Store (later Brown and Oliver) per Al Shaw. Pack was earlier owned by Ralph Treffers per name marked out on pack flap. Treffers family resided in Juneau per Joan Harju. Likely Treffers was a passenger on Parke's boat, left pack and didn't reclaim it. Pack was later used by Parke.
