Silica Flour Can
A: Can
Round cardboard can with metal bottom. Bottom is very similar to top (see below). The bottom is stapled onto the body. The body of the can is tan with a label explaining what is inside it and a shipping label on the outside. There are three sliver metal hooks that hold the lid onto the can. Each hook has a bump in the middle and points outwards towards the top.

B: Cover
Round metal cover for can. On sides there are three evenly spaced niches that are held down my hooks on the can. The top of the can has two smaller circles inside of it with indents in the lid.

C: Parting Cup
Small cream colored cup. Top is wider then the base and slopes down to it. Inside of cup is slightly pinker then the outside.

** Still contains silica flour DO NOT FLIP OVER

The parting cup C was used to dish out the silica flour.

Silica Flour is used during the firing stage of the Assaying process. Mixed with a mineral sample in a crucible to help lower the melting temperature of the minerals in the crucible.
