Notes:
The flag was carried in a parade by LeRoy West, Jr., in the 1951 Soap Box Derby National Finals in Akron Ohio. West was the first Soap Box derby winner from Alaska to participate in a national competition, so it gained a lot of press and was notable.
At the parade, 250 city champions from around the country marched in formation 10 wide and 25 long. They marched in T—shirts, helmets and with flags to the top of Derby Downs. The parade was followed by Ronald Regan and Andy Devine driving the "Oil Can Derby."
