Description:
Thomas A. Edison 80 RPM Diamond Disc Record. Black disc with recordings on both sides. Information on recordings impressed on to center section of each side. A hole located directly at center fits over support protrusion on a phonograph. There are three circular indentations at the top and lower bottom corners of center section (around text). Rest of disc contains the sound ridges.

Center sections list the title, artists and preformer information for the corresponding side's recording at the top. There is an image of Thomas Edison's bust to the left of center and the logo to the right which indicates that the record is "A PRODUCT OF THE EDISON LABORATORIES". Below center is the text: "EDISON.

Side 1: Canzonetta from the Concerto Romantique for Violin (Bodard, Op. 35, No. 3) with violin solo by Albert Spalding and the pianoforte played by Andre Benoist. Side also has the numbers "82212—R" and "5052—A—1—14".

Side 2: Nocturne by Chopin—Wilhlmi with a violin solo by Albert Spalding and the pianoforte played by Andre Benoist. Side also has the numbers "82212—L" and "5752—F—1—9".
Notes:
Thomas Edison made records and record players specifically designed for each other. Other companies were making 78 RPM records which would not play on Edison phonographs without a special needle attachment.
