Painted wood oar with protective copper sheath tacked to tip of oar blade. Leather rowlock protector with woven rope holding ring. Cream colored oar with red handle. Machine milled. Oar blade 5 inches by 26 inches. "6 1/2" written in felt pen on handle end of oar.
Notes:
From collection of 30—40 oars beachcombed and preserved by Thomas S. Parke. "6 1/2" written on end of oar indicates oar length.

This oar is suitable for an approximately eight foot skiff.
Oar washed with soft brush in warm tap water and dish soap, rinsed in tap water and dried prior to delivery to museum.
