Description:
Round orange molded rigid plastic commercial fisheries net float encased in knotted grey 0.3125 inch polypropylene net. Float surface structures with ribs similar to latitude and longitude lines on globe. Offset eyes on either end of float. Eyes lined with brass inserts. Encasing net made of knotted pattern systematically worked tightly around float into diamond shaped pattern and approximately 2.5 inch by 7 inch at "equator" of float. Embossed inscription next to eye on upper end of float: "HI—ZEX / L—M / ?A 30 CM" On base of float on injection plug is inscribed "66"

Float beach combed from shores of Northern Southeast Alaska and preserved by Thomas S. Parke. Float likely part of series of commercial new floats, lost and drifted ashore.
