Front and one side of chapel with arched doorways and windows. Background is misty blue with silhouetted tree forms. In foreground are five large tree trunks with green boughs and statue of robed figure with back to viewer, on pedestal. Walkway leads from lower left to chapel entrance. Simple wood frame with glass, green inside mat & pale green outside mat. Property #04530.

Notes:
Acquired by Juneau Centennial Committee. Painting shows grounds & chapel at Shrine of St. Therese, retreat of Roman Catholic Church located 18 miles northwest of Juneau. The Shrine is named for Carmelite nun (Therese de Lisieux, 1873—1897) and was built in 1933.
