Ivory Letter Opener with Harpoon Head Handle

Description:
Paper knife, ivory. Handle is a harpoon head made of walrus ivory, brown patina, 3.0 inch long, with hole drilled crosswise through center. Bottom end of handle slopes down to a point, with a shallow hole drilled into it. Top end of handle has a slit cut crosswise into it; knife blade sits in slit and is held in place with two black and white painted pegs. Blade is thin (less than 0.0625 inch), 3.5 inch long, curves to a point, and is whiter than handle, with brown/yellow patina in some places.
