Description:
Expanding envelope style leather briefcase. Hinged opening. Leather handle attached with brass fittings. Locking brass hasp with (B) steel key. 6 brass cap feet (1 missing). Exterior leather dark brown, textured on flat surfaces and smooth leather around sides and bottom. Assemble with straight stitched cotton thread. Interior unlined. 3 dividers of light weight leather(?) board w/ top edge bound in vinyl binding. Cream color cloth tag with dark brown writing sewn into seam gives manufacturer information.
Inscription: Cloth tag sewn inside bag: "TOP GRAIN COWHIDE / BRIEF BAG BY REXBILT / U.S. PATENT NOS. 2039913 1994235 / OTHERS PENDING U.S.A."
