Description:
Painted dark green 90—inch wooden oar. Paint worn off approximately 90 percent of oar. Probably oak. Machine milled. Oar shaft is 2 inches in diameter. Paddle blade is 5.75 inches by 29.5 inches. "7 1/2" written in felt pen on handle end of oar.
"RANCE" scratched into blade of oar in 1.5—inch letters, may have been "RANGER". Lettering in black paint and later painted over with green paint.

Notes:
This oar was likely lost from the boat "Rance" or "Ranger," recovered, painted green, put back in service and later lost again after which it was beachcombed by Parke. "7 1/2" on end of oar marked the oar length.
